Concept of Double E Design:
Double-E design is the basic principle for eco-design of plastic products, which centers on easy-to-collect & easy-to-regenerate. The concept of Double-E design originates from the 3R (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) principle of circular economy. Core problems in plastics recycling include difficulty in recycling, high recycling cost, and low regeneration value. The Double-E design system is a set of green design system based on the pain points of the industry, the application field of plastic products, and the latest progress in technology. We put forward the new 3A concept (Available, Acceptable, Affordable), which means that the green innovation technology and business model of plastics industrial chain are Available; the social, environmental and economic impacts of plastic products in the process of production, consumption and waste disposal are Acceptable; and the cost increase brought by the implementation of eco-design and green transformation of industrial chain is Affordable. Being easy-to-collect and easy-to-regenerate is the basic guarantee to realize the recycling and sustainable value of waste plastics

Regenerative application
Regenerative application, referring to rational application of recycled plastic particles, covers the entire life cycle of plastic product including eco-design, recycling, processing of recycled materials and product addition. GRPG will establish the most complete standard system, certification system and testing system for recycled plastics, standardize the safe and sustainable application of recycled plastics, and scientifically evaluate and guide the design and production of green plastic products. This system will combine the actual situation of China's plastic industry, target the needs of industrial chain and specific segmented applications, and adhere to the principles of scientific rationality, operability and easy implementation, which will provide standardized guidance for enterprises contributing to the construction of green recycling plastic supply chains.
Product Carbon Footprint
Research and development of carbon benchmark calculation method for recycled plastics
Aiming to provide carbon data support for the high-value utilization of recycled plastics, GRPG conducts the research on carbon emission factor calculation and simple carbon calculation tools for mechanical recycled PET, recycled PP, and recycled PE products containing recycled plastics. Through sample analysis of the waste plastic processing and treatment process of waste plastic recycling enterprises, GRPG applies the carbon calculation tools and methods from three dimensions, including region, organization (enterprise) and product. Based on research and calculation, GRPG proposes three types of post-consumer plastic carbon emission factors, namely rPP food boxes, rPP household appliances, and rHDPE. In the future, GRPG will plan to continue improving the collection of data on recycled plastics and increase the calculation of carbon emission factors for regenerated plastics using rPET (mechanical and chemical methods), and develop a carbon cloud (Carbonstop)-based platform for calculating carbon emissions from recycled plastics.
