The Green Recycling Plastic Supply Chain Group (GRPG) is an industrial chain collaborative work platform officially launched on June 23, 2020, which is led by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and China National Resources Recycling Association and consists of the first group of 16 leading enterprises. GRPG is committed to explore a new model for the development of the plastic circular economy in China.

On February 24, 2022, the China Plastic Processing Industry Association (CPPIA), the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) and the China National Resources Recycling Association (CRRA) signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation. This signaled a typical tripartite collaboration in China's plastic industry chain. Relying on the GRPG platform, we collaborate on data, policy guidance, supply chain standards and other work systems in the upstream and downstream of industry chain, contributing to a new ecosystem of plastic circular economy.

GRPG works to gradually build a complete standard system for the supply chain of recycled plastics, which covers the entire lifecycle of recycled plastics ranging from eco-design of plastic products, processing of recycled materials to recycled content in products, compliant operation of supply chain entities, and recycling of plastic waste. This will standardize the safe and sustainable application of recycled plastics, and scientifically evaluate and guide the design and production of green plastic products. Therefore, a set of practical and systematic standard tools will be provided for upstream and downstream industrial chains to build a green supply chain.

Moreover, GRPG has established nine application groups for key application scenarios, which provide a practical trial basis for the green recycling plastic supply chain standard system under construction, and verifies the feasibility of the standards. This lays a foundation for the optimization of entire standard system and wider implementation in the later stage.

The GRPG Think Tank consist of experts from various fields related to plastic circular economy. The expert seminars are held annually to guide and support the strategic formulation and work of GRPG.

Under the guidance of the GRPG leadership group, the GRPG office is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the working group, continuously improving the working mechanism, arranging internal training and related exchanges and interactions among members, and promoting the relevant work results of the working group.
